Capen of South China, son of Mrs. Randall Capen, 2325 N. Talbot Ave, and the late Dr. Capen, will speak in five local churches beginning tomorrow morning. The Rev. Mr. Capen was born in China where his father served as a Baptist missionary for 37 years, The son was educated in college and seminary in ‘the United States and ordained in the First Baptist Church here. : Forced to Flee Twice The First Church has sponsored both generations of Capens in their missionary work in China. The Rev. Mr. Capen was driven out of China by the Japanese but; managed to get back afterward only to escape some years later to west China and from there to America.
