Evansville Stays Undefeated With 52-37 Triumph
By FRANK ANDERSON | The temperature dropped last |night, So did Butler. | The defeat-weary Bulldogs {rolled under the listless heels of 'Evansville’s unbeaten Purple {Aces, 52-37. A sparse crowd of 11131 looked on in the fieldhouse.

The loss was Butler's ninth in {10 games. Evansville set a new! school record by racking up its!
ninth straight win of the season.! Ahead Once ! Butler led only once. That was in the first two minutes of the game when John Hall potted a set shot for a 2-1 advantags. {After that the Aces had things {well under control. Butler's {ragged play set the tone for the {contest. The Aces relaxed twice {and the Bulldogs tied each time, jonce at 8-8 and again at 11-11. Once Tony Hinkle became so exasperated at the miscues of his 6-4 center, Bob Jackson, that he yelled, “Jackson, get under the basket and stay there.” But Jackson must not have heard, for most of the people under the baskets were Evansville players. That condition resulted in a 23-16 advantage for the Aces at the half. Evansville men drifted along with the fumb-| ling Butler tide, putting out just! enough to control everything in sight.
Rally a Bit The Bulldogs came back in the second half and did a shade better. With 10 minutes gone they trailed oniy 24-28. But at ithe three minutes to go the Aces were in front by 14 points, 46-32. That 14 points could have been 100 as far as Butler was concerned. The rest of contest was wasted motion. Use Six Men Evansville used only six men. Hinkle played 13 boys in a futile search for a good combination. The nearest Butler came to having a hero was Dick Cranny, who canned seven points. Guards Bob Sakel and Larry Holder carried the burden for the Aces with 16 and 12 points, respectively. It was the second time in a
