You may not want to take time out from playing with your toys and admiring your Christmas gifts—to eat, but most of us do. Whether you have friends or relatives joining your Christmas meal, or just your own family, it is nice to make some little special decoration for the table. Mother plans, buys, and prepares the food, and I'll bet that she would appreciate your making these place cards. When mother does her buying for the Christmas dinner ask her to include a package of gumdrops, some linfe and cinnamon “mints,” and a box of red and green tiny birthday candles. Choose combinations of colors which will be in keeping with the table colors. To make these little eandleholders use white cardboard tags for name cards, and paste a gumdrop or a marshmallow on one side for the base. Slice one side of the base to insert a mint for a handle, and stick the candle on top. Print each person's name on the card. If mother permits, tite candles may be lit as the guests are seated, and they can read their names.
