OUR FIRST ROAD game will be in Pittsburgh against Len Casahova's Panthers on Oct. 20. You may be sure that our ‘pass defense will be worked on considerably before we make this trip. Another afternoon of completions "such as Pittsburgh enjoyed against us this past fall and we could easily be on the short end of the score. Purdue, the team which started us on the wrong track last season will be back in South Bend on Oct. 27. We will try not to carry our neighborly love to quite such an extent in 1951. The Boliermaker attack will again be directed by Dale Samuels, who our players felt was the best quarterback they faced during the season just completed. Notre Dame's second road attraction will find the Irish meeting Navy at Baltimore, Nov. 3. Football fans will recall that the Middies gave winning ND all it could handle in the battle in Cleveland this year and then went

On that day we will be facing one of the top exponents of the single wing system. n ” ” NOTRE DAME'S first trip into North Carolina will come on Nov. “17 - when we play Carl Snavely’'s Tar Heels, Since it will be our second consecutive week against the single wing attack, our defenses should be quite alert. They will have to be to stop Coach Snavely's offense. . Back for our final home game on Nov, 24 we will entertain the Iowa Hawkeyes. Needless to say, they will be out .to improve on last fafl’s tie game. So will we, a n n re Y. IT IS OUR sincere hope that the long trek to close the season against Southern California in Los Angeles, Dec. 1, will be more fruitful than it was last season. I do feel reasonably cerfain that the respective records of these two teams wiii be more representative than they were last fall. Time will tell.
