As Far as Italians Can See -
ROME, Dec. 18 shipyards.
(CDN)—Keels for five new 100-foot ‘ong. $160,000 trawlers have just been laid at northern Italy’s Viareggio
But chances are they won't get used in Italy’s home waters. In fact it looks as if this country will be forced to meet Tito’s terms for fishing in the rich inshore bays of Yugoslavia. |

they don’t swim close enough together. The gap between fishes! fn a school is so wide the whole mass fails to reflect on the graph of the fathometer, Italy is baffled as to what] should be done to get back the| use of the Yugoslav grounds. Tito! has been accommodating as far| as negotiations go, but like all Communists, his price Is high—| too high for Italy's fishermen. | ‘ "Mito made a deal with Italy last year to sell the Italian fishermen access to four restricted zones on the Dalmatian coast at a rate which would have cost the fishermen about five cents a pound. The trawlers figured on 10,000 tons, which would have added about 8 per tent to Italy's fish jet. q But the Italian government, after promising Tito about $1, 250,000 in fishing rights, found it-| self faced with a fishermen’s rebellion. The fishermen would not,
