HRISTMAS means more than a tearbringing story to a poor | Woman and her Child in a manger, more than carols full of sentiment and piety which too few care to accept.

world. But peace depends upon man’s dependence upon God. FE DE “PEACE on earth to men of good will,” is another translation of this same text, God has good will toward men; but man will have peace only as he uses God's good will, God's grace, God's graciousness, and
in turn expends this grace upon |
his fellow man. Until we have |
“men of. good will,” we cannot have true peace. The two translations of this verse are not opposed. but they support and strengthen one another.
God's good will toward men— |
man's toward his
fellows.
This is emphasized by Jesus when He said: “Forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors”; and “You are my friends if you do as I tell you.” This demands that each man must get right with God, for it Is our own willfulness that prevents us from being friends with God and having inward peace, We cannot hope to have world peace until we realize it within our own individual lives. In this Christmas season; let examine ourselves to see wherein we may have {trespassed against God, wife, husband, child, employer, teacher, or friend.
