PLANT 25 TREES
Hera’ -, 2 ¢ SWEET- SRI ~IN 6 ROWS - 5 ‘TREES IN A ROW.
Here is a puzzle that has many variations, but Herbert Hatt of Anderson, Ind., suggests the idea at a time when it can be used
las a Christmas tree puzzle, This is another fine puzzle to keep in
your “bag of {ricks” to try on your friends. It will be fun to see if they can work this out. The problem this farmer had was to plant 25 trees in six rows. Each row must have five trees in a line. Sounds impossible, but it can be done as you can see in the above illustration. Possible variations of this problem would be 21 trees in five rows, 17 trees in four rows, or do you have other: possibilities? The rows are arranged like the spokes of a wheel with one tree at the hub and two on each gide in a row. ; Wouldn't it be great to plant this puzzle with live evergreens, and watch your puzzle grow up? Don't forget that I am always glad to have your ideas for the Winner of the Week Contest. Write Herb Sweet's TRY IT in care of this paper. TOMORROW—Fold and
