Born in Madison, she lived here 64 years, She was a member of St. Patrick's and its altar society. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Eleanor M. Newman, Mrs. Luella Rohrman and Mrs, Helen Klaiber, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Rose Brinson, Clayton; five sons. Charles, Andrew and Frank, Indianapolis; George A. land, Ore., and Raymond J., Shelbyville; three sisters, Mrs. Clara Hertz, Indianapolis; Mrs. Sophie Newman, Omaha, and Mrs. Henry Lorenz, Madison; two brothers, Frank Schaefer; Indianapolis, and Charles Schaefer, Madison: 15 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.
The police report says Dr. Furniss was called to 705 N. Senate Ave. on the ‘1948 date to treat a sick woman, At the door he was urged to “hurry up,” because the woman's condition - was worse. Once. inside, at gun-point, the doctor was relieved of his biHfold containing $150 in cash, a $27 check and his $50 gold watch. Asked about the case, Dr. Furniss told The Times that he had a ‘very efficient secretary at that time and maybe she'd have some record” of the holdup. The doctor said he "just couldnot remember” this or any other holdup.
