We, the Women— : Family Security May Be Aim Of Penny-Pinching Husband

| By RUTH MILLETT SHE THINKS her husband is stingy because it's | hard to get money from him and he complains about how much she spends on groceries and other necessities. | Maybe he is stingy, or it could be that the high cost of livIng has him just plain scared. A wife ought to make sure it's the first and not the second reason before she blames her husband for being close-fiisted. - One-Way she can tell is by what he does with the money he holds back. If he spends’ freely on himself or wastes it in other ways while begridging his wife everything he has to give her for running the house, then he is stingy. } But if he iz trying to build up a little security for the family with the money he : | holds on to, then it's a different matter. ¢* By JOAN LOOK, Johnny and Joe, Tom and Teddy, you like girls, don't you? Well, why not treat them so they'll know? And so they'll like you in return? Perhaps you've been getting away with some pretty thoughtless behavior. Failing to phone when you said you would. - Appearing for dates sloppy and unshaven. The little courtesies pay off in a girl's appreciation, in popularity, that rough, tough tactics never will win.

ON A DATE, for instance, treat your girl as though you were glad you asked her. If you're going to let her shift for herself, why bother to date her? Maybe the gal is a disappointment—not the party-girl you thought her. You still owe her some time and attention; you brought her. And it's surprising, but other guys will &écept your date at your evaluation. If
