Children s Museum to Mark 25th Anniversary Crobp
Dinner Scheduled Wednesday Night
By AGNES H. OSTROM
AS BRILLIANT as sil- |
ver which traditionally
marks a quarter century
anniversary is the Children's Museum 25-year community service record. Wednesday a grateful! community will express its appreciation on the birthday of the Indianapolis museum's opening for the first time to youngsters. Officially. the birthday cake will be cut that night at a dinner for trustees, executives and special guests in the museum. But over the city its junior patrons will take their cue from a pre-adolescent. On hearing of the 25th aniversary he ex- - claimed, “Now I'll have a good excuse to wear my membership pin all week.” Since that early December day the museum has established itself as a center of learning, culture and neverending curiosity to the children who flock its gallerys, challenge its patient staffers with prying questions. Today it's a quarter-mililion dollar plant. This includes the 3010 N. Meridian Bt. property, its modern attractive fourth home, and more than 100.000 catalogued. articles for display donated by interested citizens « hot to mention a live animal display. - ~
