n Expansion Planned By Prefab Firm

Yo ALBANY, Nov. 24—Out: to better its daily production of 50 prefabricated houses, Gunnison Homes, Inc. will start work on plant expansion here. The prefabricated -housing subsidiary of U. 8. Steel Corp. will flex factory production capacity by 100.000 square feet in a two-

story addition to operations here.

The addition will give the company 440,000 square feet, including present plant and supplementary warehouse space here, Gen. John J. O’Brien; president of the company, announced today. Introduction of a new prefabricated line, the Coronadd house with the “out west” look, and new improvements to the Champion line coupled with order backlogs spurred the addition, Gen. O'Brien said. The Gunnison Homes president said the company currently uses 1.5 million square feet of plywood and one million board feet of lumber weekly, represently handling of 600 tong of timber used in finished products shipped dally.
