as have taken place in the last 10 years. The magnitude of the problems and their significance is re. vealed for the first time in, one of the most comprehensive series of reports -ever made on the status of United States youth. Just completed, and made available through NEA Service exclusively, the reports are the results of more than a year's work by 115,000 doctors, educators, judges and other experts, aided by 85,000 volunteer laymen. They were prepared in the 48 states and. territories for President Truman's Midcentury White House Conference on Children and Youth to be held Dec. 3-7. This and succeeding stories in a series are based on an analysis of the brand new information in the reports.
