be sneezed at. Oh, my aching nose. You know, why sure you do, that ‘yesterday: the National Rose Show opened on the sixth floor for L. 8. Ayres. Today it closes at 5:30 p-m. Gee, it's going to take a lot of books to press 40,000 roses. Next to gardenias, camelias, ‘orchids and zinnias, roses are my favorite flowers. Roses must be a favorite of a great many people. Shortly after the doors opened to the store, there was | hardly room on the sixth Hopr to take a good ’ whiff of a rose. Once while muzzling Golden Rapture roses, 1 closed my eyes as 1 often do! Experts tlose their eves to get the mostest up their noses. At first the scent was faint, Then it became stronger and stronger. Never in my life had I run my: nose into a.rose with such: an ov erpowering odor,

Joanna Hill roses had a heavy, lingering’ odor. Most of the Pink Ladies reminded me of an old sachet, faint but full of promise like a woman's soft, white hand. caressing your chin, And I don’t mean hands that have been peeling oniong and cutting up green. peppers all day.
