Younger boys and girls like tag games because there is a lot of action. These games are good training, too, for such highly organized games as football and baseball. This old-time game never fails to arouse Interest gn a group of youngsters. . To play, join hands and stand in a circle while the leader selects one person to be the “cat” and another to be the “rat.” The “rat” stands inside the circle, and all of the players join hands | about him to protect him from the “cat,” who starts on the inside ’ | of the circle. The “cat” attempts to tag the “rat,” but all of the players in thé circle help the “rat” by bloeking the “cat” @way from the “rat” | with their arms and bodies. Of course, the “cat” tries tp crash | through the lowered arms, either to get out of the circle or in to catch the dodging “rat” who runs in and out under the raised arms, | If the game gets dull, add two “rats” and even two “cats”! Ask | your teacher to let you play this game sometime at school.
