Protestants To Blueprint Faith Festival |
Tuesday Meeting To Plan Observance
A “booster meeting” Proteestants will lay the groundwork for a Festival sof Faith Tuesday at 7:30 p. m. in the Roberts Park Methodist Church. The Festival of Faith for 10,000 Protestants will commemorate the Protestant Reformation the night of Oct. 29 in Cadle Tabernacle. Each year on Reformation Sunday, Protestants of the United States meet to take spiritual stock of themselves and reaffirm their faith. Last year, they crowded the
North Methodist Church for their|.
Reformation Day Worship service. The planning committee resolved to hold the festival in a more spacious auditorium this year so that a larger representation of the churches may attend.
The festival is sponsored here by|
the Indianapolis Church Federa-| tion and its executive secretary,. Dr. Howard J. Baumgartel.

“Children trained in the Bible | and the Christian faith will make the strongest defense against communism and all destructive forces.” This, in essence, is what many Indianapolis church folk will hear on “Week-Day Religious Education Sunday” tomorrow. Special speakers will address
the Sunday Schools. of the city. Many pastors are expected to talk about the week-day religious education program in Indianapolis during the sermon period in the churches. A total of 83 per cent of the fourth and fifth grade children of the public schools attended the religion. classes last year.
- Age-old Bible stories charm young “readers in week- day classes taught by Miss Marie Gillespie.
The classes always are held in conveniently located churches and the churches, not the public school system, meet the expense. The 21 teachers who give instruction in the religion classes possess educational credits required by the public schools with additional preparation in Bible and religion.
