3 Arrests Follow Abduction Report
Policeman Empties Gun at Speeding Car
A volley of shots fired at a speeding car and the report of an attempted abduction led to the arrest of a woman and two young men early today. The shots were fired in front of 1225 W. Ray St. by Patrolman John C, Stratton. The officer was walking across the street and was forced to leap to the sidewalk to keep from being hit as the car raced by, he said. The officer heard a woman's scream from the car. He drew his pistol and tired six shots, A ‘moment later another car, containing five young people, stopped. The youths told Patrolman Stratton that two unidenti-| fied men had forced Miss Odean) Grisson, 28, of 2055 Broadway, into a car outside a night club, and they were chasing them. A. description of the fleeing car was broadcast. Two hours later police stopped a car fitting the| description at East St. and Mas-! sachusetts Ave, and took its] occupants to police headquarters. | Charges of reckles: driving and} driving without an operator’s| license were placed against David Napier, 20, of 2209 Station st. Miss. Grisson, who was in the car, and Clifton White, 21, of 821 Birch St, were charged with city vagrancy. Miss Grisson told police she had accompanied White and Napier voluntarily,
