Tas AN Guild. The style parade held yester-| day and today in the Indianapolis Athletic Club was played before a capacity audience. Spec-| tators were put in a’ festive mood | when the IAC presented the guild with a five-tiered cake in honor of its 25th anniversary. An aggregation of entertainers from perennial favorite, Frank Parrish, -and Mr. Russell Williams Jr, to a kilted bagpiper kept things lively while. models drawn from the organization walked down the ball-room’s runWay. The clothes, from the fall co-| Jection of L. Strauss and Co. were the wearable kind traditional coats and, suits preferred by In-| dianapolis matrons for their day-| time wardrobes. !
Basic Black
Most excitment was created by the new autumn“ colors — plum, tangerine, mustard, coral, pump-| kin, taupe, charcoal, rust and torch red. t i Black was still basic, but it was black with liberal sprinklings of the red tones. The show started with a breezy
E casual and conservative. There § were the inevitable yellow slick-| ers, suede jackets, corduroy shirt- | waists, gray flannel skirts, jersey blouses and knitted dresses, Next guild models appeared in’ the daytime offerings. A plum colored sheer wool gabardine suit 5 dress had a cerise lining and; £ a bonnet to match. A black wool i dress was designed with a faille overskirt that broke at the hip-| line. With it was a black velvet] cloche with a white plume.
Casual Coats Touches of black velvet were] omnipresent. There were black! velvet hats ( a cushion bonnet |
