The dramatic swoosh of - the plastic candy-stripe was achieved with the five-minute magic aid of festoon pleaters. They are available in any drapery or hardware department. Filmy ninons, nylons, fiberglas and rich froths of lace are appearing in lush pastel shades. The ninon curtains shown with the plastic stripe are powder pink, match the venetian blinds. The combination casts a rosy glow over the dining room.

Frame Accent

WASHABLE wallpapers can do away with wilting curtains in the kitchen. The scalloped frame at the window (right) may be cut to size in any woodworking shop. Emphasize the window still more by carrying the paper's theme right onto the venetian blind slats. Cut out the featured design into one and three-quarter inch strips; apply them to the blind with library or wallpaper paste. It will last for months or be removed without the

finish on any blind, whether it is metal or wood. Slip in extra slats over the regular ones for a temporary touch of gaiety. Build a drapery wall to play down unevenly placed windows. But choose a fabric with a muted background and not too busy a pattern. Look for easy,
