Jay Williams, one of our 8-year-old campers, has a lot of fun at home building things from bricks. His parents purchased 100 bricks, and he puts them together into many combinations such as He has
100 bricks so that he can make more complex structures. He even carries a little trowel around and is going to mix mortar to cement some of the bricks together.. : You may even have a small pile of bricks around your yard that you could use, or start a collection of your own. Be sure to ask for bricks, never take them without permission. Work together with your buddies and with these lasting play blocks build skyscrapers, streets, and even lay out an imaginary town. Be careful not to break the bricks, but you can use small pieces, too, if they should get broken. Draw on the bricks with chalk to make windows or other construction features.
