Most people say that they can boil an egg, that it's simple, but there are certain tricks which will bring the best results. This simple method is a good one for children to use, because the eggs are not placed in boiling water to begin to cook, but in cold water. Use strictly fresh eggs. A fresh egg has a rough shell and will sink when placed in a pan of cold water. Select a dozen or so eggs, making sure that they are clean, then place them in an enamel pan and cover with cold water. Handle the eggs with care, making certain that none is cracked. Place on the stove and bring the water to the boiling point, then reduce the heat, Keep just below the boiling point, and cook for 20 minutes. Plunge the hard cooked eggs into cold water to prevent discoloration of the yolks. Don't you get to the “boiling point”—just the eggs.—TOMORROW—Easter Animals From Colored Eggs. :
