"Heart's in It' Says Mrs. Carrie Brown By AGNES H. OSTROM ALTHOUGH she's a shut-in, Mrs. Carrie M. Brown, is one of the state's most active club presi-

b dents. : From a. couch in her home, TT TT KT 2035 NN. PepnsvivEnia ST, she : energetically directs the business of the Indiana Unit, Friendly J Page Hobby Club. Sheer determination and a telephone are her tools. ° f p .. A comparatively new member -—she joined last year—Mrs, Brown won the 1949 prize offered for recruiting new members. And since the first of the year she’s been at the helm of the growing statewide group. The Hoosier unit is only three years old. Begun July 25, 1946, with six members its roster now lists more than 100. Applications _& from as far as Greece and Hawaii specify memberships in the Indiana division. While this delights the executive officer she hopes to. open active units in other Indiana towns much the same as there are in various states, particularly Ohio, a club stronghold. :
