It is on astounding claim to make. - They claim that in the days between the Resurrection and the Ascension, Jesus established this friendship, so that it would be ovailable to men in oll ages. ~ Have you ever wondered about the Resurrection appearances? Have you ever wondered why, when Jesus met Mory in the garden, He would not let her touch him? It was because He wanted to take her beyond the evidence of sight and touch, : He wanted her to learn that she could realize Mis presence without the need of eyes or hands. He was busy bridging the gap, planting the friendship in the unseen. : » ~ »n » x : a » . % There is a glorious promise given in the days of old that has not yet faded from the written record: “It with all your hearts ye truly seek me, ye shall ever truly find me”. Ah, there perhaps is our first clue—"if with all your hearts” . . . Ask yourself, om | after all seeking God with my whole heart? Or must | say in all honesty, “I want God and yet | don’t want Him, | want to find Him end yet | don't, for | would be afraid Baas Or, | would not want Him to find me just yet . . Am | really seeking God with my whole heart?”

Then there is another side to the picture. | wonder if we are brave enough to face it? Perhaps there are times, when some of us “want God as we want a hot water bottle at night” —to help us over some tem-. porary discomfort. Or we look to God to help us, when we stand in the roadway looking for a passing motorist to push us to the next gas station. :

But we can’t treat God that way! We simply can’t think of God as a kind of luncheon club presi-
