ABBIE AN’ SLATS Roy Rogers Comic , ..Only in The Times. __ —By Raeburn Yan Buren,
Book Tor Her 2-year-old Son, and He was so delighted with it she thought that other mothers might be interested in making one for — — their small children, too. Tiny tots, who have not learned how to handle a book without tearing it, should have books that won't tear. These books make nice gifts too for grandmothers to as semble for their grandchildren. ; : : The pages can be made any size, but youngsters like big books with large pictures. Cut up an old sheet into 11x20-inch squares, and stitch down the middle so that each page will be 10x11 inches. If “pinking shears” are used, the edges of the pages will not be apt to unravel. Cut out colored pictures with large objects or ani mals to be pasted on the cloth pages with wall-paper paste. Cut out individual letters from large advertisements, too, and make into colorful designs. i 2) ’ Two small books are better than one large one, for they give variety and a change to their “reading.” Save all gaily colored pictures, and add to the cloth book library. —~TOMORROW—RIing » Bottle for “Fishing” Fun.
