Plan Laetare Sunday Rites

Catholics to Aid Victims of War

Roman Catholics of every parish in the United States will mark Laetare Sunday tomorrow by bringing gifts toward the $5 million Bishop's fund for victims of war. His Holiness, Pope Pius XII, wrote letters to bishops of the country asking that the collections be taken in all the churches. Laetare Sunday always falls in the middle of Lent and sounds a hopeful note in the midst of the penitential season. Symbolically, the Holy Father set tomorrow as war relief offering day since the financial aid will brighten the|—— lives of displaced persons and the needy overseas.
