Larry, who lives near the famous 500 Mile Indianapolis Speed+
way Race Track, has been selected as the WINNER OF THE WEEK for his use of bricks in making novel book ends. Every boy and girl - should have the start of a permanent library, We all have some books that we use more often than others, and they should be out where they can be easily reached. Books that are within easy reach will be used more often than those which must be dug out from behind a stack of odds and ends. : One of the biggest faults of book ends is that they are not heavy enough to hold the books, and they are constantly sliding or falling over, letting the books tumble to the floor. Bricks which are made in half gizes for window and door finishing may be used, or you may use whole bricks. Sketch a design on the bricks using your cub sign, Scout emblem, or some Air Force design, and paint it on. “Glue a piece of blotter or felt from an old hat onto the bottom’ of the bricks to prevent them from scratching the table or desk tops. Its no trick just find a brick. f
