diana, and got his first break in baseball’ when he was signed by Champaign of the IllinoisMissouri league. This was a class D circuit and about as low as you can start as a professional player. Apparently his work there was satisfactory because after the 1913 and ’14 campaigns he was grabbed by Danville of the Three I loop. This circuit is a class B
circuit and a definite step up the
