The attack was paced by Bill Garrett and Bobhhy Masters, who hit for six points each and Jerry po Stuteville who hit for five. J On the final tally, Garrett had en accounted for 20 points, -Stute- 2 ville 17 and Masters 12, the same total hit by the entire Illinois team in the second half. The victory was sweet revenge for the Hoosiers, losers of their last four encounters with the Illini, for the score was the highest ever recorded against Illinois on its home court. Illini Outclassed Illinois was completely outclassed in the second half by the stellar speed of the Hoosiers. After being held scoreless for six minutes and 40 seconds of the second half, Illinois Captain Bill Erickson finally broke the scoring drought with a free throw. But the Hurryin’ Hoosiers roared back into action to take a commanding 81-61 lead. ' Beoring honors went to Wally Osterkorn who had little trouble| operating against Lou Watson who finally went out on personal fouls, Osterkorn netted 28 points. The Hoosiers wound up the night with a hot .375 average, hitting 30 to 80 shots from the field. Illinois’ average was 314 on 27 of 86.
