ST. LOUIS, Feb. 13 (UP) — Nine businessmen said today that they were ready to make a definite offer this week for the floundering St. Louis Bombers of the National Basketball Association “if the price is right.”
The team, now mired in last place in the league's central division, is operated by the owners of the St. Louis Arena. Bob Soell, a promoter represent ing the prospective buyers, intimated that the team may not want to play all its games at the arena next year if his group gains control. Kiel Auditorium in downtown St. Louis is the site of many college games. The arena is on the far west side. Soell said his group has sufficlent backing to run the team next season and a definite offer has been agreed upon. He met with Emory Jones, general manager of the Bombers, last week and said he won talk with him again this week. :
