Police investigating Mr, Davies’ | death said clues pointed to. a! hit-and-run truck. They were re-! ported checking truck terminals today for possible leads, f Mr. Davies’ body was discovered lying in the street at 2 a. m. by witnesses who told police they walked to the Intersection from a block away after seeing a truck | . pass and hearing brakes screech at Kentucky and Oliver Aves. Police said Mr, Davies, who roomed in 1409 N. Pennsylavnia Bt., was employed at the Star a1! the time of his death. He was. ~ taken to the city morgue.

Mr. Davies was a printer at The Times from October, 1048, through February, 1949. Police sald they were attempting to notify his mother and a brother
