INK SPOT -— INSECT LARVA
WRITING PAPER L HERB. IMAGINARY ew SWEET- PICTURES BULL FIDDLE i'm alee | #28
Have you ever spilled a spot of ink on a paper or on the desk top and tried to dry it up with a piece of writing paper? If you have, you probably recall now the ink spreads instead of being absorbed. This characteristic of ink can be turned into a lot of fun, if you prepare for it. . Spread out two or three newspapers on an old work table, and get a bottle of ink. Now the magic isn’t in the ink bottle, it comes from putting a big drop of ink from a paint brush in the center of a half sheet of writing or mimeograph paper and then folding the sheet. Press the paper above the ink-spot with your fingers, and then push the ink all out smooth until it has spread as far as it will go. Now peek under the top sheet, and there is your surprise! See if you can “spot” any imaginary pictures. Try water color paints, too, in two or three colors for bright magic. Surprised?—Monday— Collect and hang old license plates.
