Part of the fun in having a toy train, whether it be electric of: wind-up, is to make the layout of the track look as realistic as pose: It is exciting to watch the train and cars disappear into & tunnel and come roaring out the other side, Make a tunnel for your train. Design it as long as you want it’: by bending a frame work of small mesh chicken wire. . the arch that forms the tunnel is high enough, so that all of. you: train equipment can run through easily, Form a separate wire frame for the interior of the tunnel, and line the inside and outside with} strips of paper toweling by pasting them on, a strip at a timé: Wallpaper paste or paste made from flour and water is cheaply | made and will hold the paper firmly. Cover the wire with one layer, : then go over it with two or three more layers. Let it dry completely, * and paint it a mottled brown and green. Glue on trees and shrubs | made from bits of sponge. Dig in and make a tunnel!
