Word from businessmen who talk with miners and their wives over the counters is that many miners feel John L. Lewis have renewed the old conwhich expired in June last year, for another two years. -
” a THE BUSINESSMEN pass that along confidential. “If you ask a miner, he'll deny it,” they say. They do what they're told and are supposed to keep their mouths shut, - But a three-day week or less from last July to now, is a long lean spell. And if the miners won't admit, the merchants will. cheaper but they take less space. In St. Augustine’s Episcopal Church in Wilmette, Ill, a new organ was installed in a space six by five feet. The organ took up only 1200 cubic feet, whereas an old type organ producing the same volume would have required 14.000 cubic feet. But the new electronic organs make their sweetest music in the ears of the church treasurer. The old type organ would have cost about $40,000. The new one cost $8500, and instead of the huge tubes eight feet long by eight inches in diameter, it has little paper tubes three-eighths of an inch in diameter.

LAWYERS ARE beginning to look critically at the inroads of socialization. Some of them can see in their nightmarish dreams the day when the lawyer, too, may become regulated by the government, with a scale of fees set up by law. School Visits Here
| Sixty construction and indus{trial equipment salesmen from |Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia | were visiting Indianapolis today ion a cross-country tour. The traveling sales school, sponsored by the Rish Equipment Co., were to tour J. D. Adams Manufacturing Co. today. The men were guests of the company last night at a buffet supper in the Warren Hotel. The trip is attracting attention |In trade circles because it is a reversal of the usual practice of manufacturers sending men to their distributors to acquaint (them with their equipment.

The board reported what everybody knew, namely, that business was in an excellent cash position.
