Dec. 17 { (U P)-—Police tonight dragged .a “horribly emaciated” 18-year-old {girl from a dark and musty attic where she had been “living” for two years because she disliked her stepmother. Greene County Sheriff Dahl Pruitt said the girl, Joyce Con{duff, had to be forcibly taken from the unfloored and filthy attic of a home in the downtown section. “She was terribly dirty, and in an awrul physical condition.” Mr Pruitt said. The girl was released |after an almost fruitless question ling because authorities said they had no reason to hold her.
