They took him to his West Side apartment where they said they found some $900 in bills tucked in shoes in his clothes closet. She sald | one of four youths in an automo-| bile hit her with a club and grabbed her purse containing $4.| After being treated for four) lacerations in the scalp, Miss Phelps identified an automobile which she said was involved in the robbery. Two brothers, joint owners of the car, were slated for city vagrancy but both steadfastly denied participation in the robbery.

HOLLYWOOD, Dec. 9 (UP) — Bargain-hunting crowds flocked today to Michael's exclusive haberdashery for Hollywood's liquidation sale of the year. On hand yesterday to watch more than 200 persons line up before the unprofitable Sunset Strip enterprise was retiring proprietor Mickey Cohen, better known as an alleged gambler and gangster. MILWAUKEE, Dec. 9 (UP)—A Milwaukee wife says she’s willing to forgive and forget if her husband promises not to use her face as a painter's palette. f With traces of white paint in| her hair, Mrs, Dorothy Grace, 22, | came before Judge Harvey Neelen here and charged that her husband James slapped paint in her face. She said the incident occurred when she asked him to stop paint-| ing woodwork. But she agreed] to give her husband another] chance, and the judge placed] Grace on probation.

Dec. 9| (UP)—All of the estimated 2750 | union construction workers on atomic projects who staged a wildcat strike here early this week were expected back on their jobs today. The walkout, which virtually halted all new building at the atomic city for two days, actually ended yesterday as 2333 of the strikers were reported back at work by 3 p. m. (Indianapolis {Time). The rest were expected to yeturn today. Members of 10 AFL craft unions left their jobs late Monday and early Tuesday. They apparently’ were protesting the use of
a pipeline project here.
