Spending only 18 hours in Our Fair City she expressed her love of the United States in many words, most of them French. od The Duchesse de Ia Rochefoucauld, ‘Parisian author and feminist, arrived at 3:30 p. m. Yesterday in the Wier Cook’ Municipal Airport. She was - met by Mrs. Charles C. Martin, member of the Alliance Francaise, and went to the Marott Hotel whére she addressed the Alliance at an 8 p.m. meeting.

® The Duchesse is on.her first trip to the U. 8. She has been #™ in the country 24 days and thus - far she has found everything “most interesting and charming.” “I am very pleased to see the U. 8. Your country is such a - great friend to my country: The women have so much brain and so'much heart. I can think of 20,000 reasons why I am so happy over my trip,” she said. The feminist reported that the women’s clubs here were a revelation to her. “We have no feminine clubs in-Paris. I think it is not in our way of living” . she said. “It is a beautiful invention,” she continued, “and what is even more charming are your feminine universities.”
