Measures Proposed For Added Areas

{Commission will call for mini‘mum street widths of 36 feet in pew additions, The board has relceived petitions with streets plotited as narrow as 18 feet. If streets have already been laid in new additions, future roadways must conform in width to the older ones, Mr. Keach said. In the interest of public safety, ithe board also seeks to eliminate dead end streets, jogs and unnecessary curves. Lewis (Cap) Johnson, city traffic engineer, said the 36 foot minimum would permit parking on both sides of new streets, and provide space for truck passage. No additional fire or police service can be extended to new additions within two years after the areas are annexed, Mr. Keach declared.
