He had been a member of the Seventh Christian Church for 17 years and helped organize its Boy Scout Troop 122.

For the past several years he had been assistant district comimissioner of the North District, Central Indiana Boy Scout Council No. 160. He was a Firecrafter and the holder of the Order of the Silver Beaver in scouting. It was while he was participating in scouting activities at Camp Belzer he suffered the first of a series of heart attacks,

An active Mason, he was a member of Centre Lodge 23, F. & A. M., West Side Royal Arch Masons 138 and was a super excellent master in Indianapolis Council 2, R. & 8. M, Mr. Henry was also a member of Raper Commandery No. 1, Knights Templar, and the Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce. He belonged to the Madden-Notting-ham American Legion Post 248 and the Second Infantry Division Association, :
