I realize, though, that there are few high schools which do offer any pre-law subjects so I'll have to wait for college for that. I think most fields are covered very adequately by our high schools, The pre-college course is good even if it is dicult. The students not planning om going to college can learn typing and shorthand and we have a wonderful home economics class — for future homemakers,” Doris states. Doris also belongs to the Student Council and is a member of the “Tiger” staff. Her ambition is to be a criminal lawyer and she wants to study in the University of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Carter Franklin are Doris’ parents. They live at 2410 N. Capitol Ave, . . .

“I'M JUST a sophomore in Attucks, but so far I think the range of subjects is very wide,” Thelma Thompson says. Thelma agrees that the college prep classes are they're worth struggling through. It would be awful to be all for college and then be ineligible. The home economics class is fun. The ment has a complete

SHORTRIDGE High School students are “joiners.” That's a Hoosier term for people who belong to more clubs than they can count. There's a new one — just organized «for Shortridge teen-agers. It's the Blue Blades Ice Skating Club. The skaters meet éach Monday" afternoon after classes in the Coliseum to stage their own private ice shows, PTA members at Shorts ridge were urged to ‘do some-~ thirig about a skating club” by their sons and daughters. The subtle suggestions became definite demands and, in desperation, the parents contracted for the weekly sessions.

The skating began in October and will March, Everybody from freshman to senior is in the act. The sub debs wear costumes ranging from brief skating dresses to the everyday uniform of the high school girl — sweaters and skirts. The squires are confirmed corduroy slacks men.
