tian since 16. I called your hand for printing a letter from a Godless dame who told of being courted in a tavern. Your reply upheld that outlandish, un-Christian, unladylike woman’s conduct. I'll bet you aren't above sitting in those “hell holes,” sucking cigarets, and gargling beer and “what-not.” Your advice to some of those “puppy” love teen-agers is sickening. Evidently you do not know that adolescent girls budding into womanhood do not know what it's all-about. In the final analysis, all this love “stuff” reverts toi the sex question. Time and again I've seen over-developed girls simply crazy after boys. Usually it’s an early marriage going on the rocks, or an illegitimate baby. I've read your letters because I know something about sexual makeup. Of one thing I'm sure. You do know your business. I

Times State Service GARY, Oct. 31—The 19th annual convention .of the Indiana) Sheriff's Association, which began here yesterday, went into the open business session this morning. Maj. Robert A. O'Neal, Indiana State Police, made a plea for harmony between state police and county sheriffs in a speech today before approximately 200 sheriffs, {deputies and families attending the convention. “The state police, a co-opera-tive, co-ordinating agency, is not trying to ‘sell’ itself nor to impress anyone concerning its services,” Maj. O'Neal said.
