Unborn Child Saves Mother From Prison

CHEYENNE, Wyo. Oct. 20 (UP) —A pretty, 19-year-old widow was saved from a penitentiary sentence today by her unborn child.

Mrs. Moneta Lee Bunch, who admitted helping her late husband loot several Cheyenne homes, was placed on parole and permitted to return to her home in Oregon with her mother. District Judge ‘Sam M. Thompson told Mrs. Bunch that he would have sentenced her to a penitentiary term if she were not pregnant. Her husband committed suicide last week.

Admits Slaying Mother In Row Over Boy Friend

HAYWARD, Cal, Oct. 20 (UP) —~Celeste Morrow, 15, said today that she stabbed her mother to death with a kitchen knife in a quarrel that began when the mother ordered her boy friend out of the house. Her 41-year-old mother, also named Celeste, was found dead on the floor of her Spanish-style (house in nearby San Lorenzo vil|lage last night. An eight-inch knife had been jabbed between 'her shoulder blades.
