Will oil conversion make a grease
No—not with Winkler LP*, proper installation of automatic ofl in a good furnace is the keynote to a clean home. Skilled mechanics of the Bolls Furnace Co. on W. 16th St, will modernize your present furnace into ofl design furnace
‘no flame ever hits the furnace
making sure of a tightness whereby no odors, gases, film or dirt can get into your house.
Is my present furnace foo old for an oil conversion burner!
No—not with Winkler LP*. The age of your present furnace is no handicap. It may be 20 years or older if still ip good shape. It can be reset ifcast, resealed if: steel and ft will make it last for many more years. The reason is simple,
walls, only the heat is diverted to the sides of the furnace. It actually makes your furnace into an oil design-furnace. No dirt, odor or grease flim.
What Is the cost of oll heat with a conversion burner!
The highest operating efficiency ever. From an 11% CO-2 test and a stack temperature 275°, seldom exceeding 300°, Thereby maintaining an operating efficiency of. between 86%. to 90%. Ask any ofl company engineers about these figures. In dollars and cents for
the average 5 or 6-room house approximately $00 or less per year fuel cost in your present cast or steel furnace with the Winkler LP* furnace. Yes, we admit it sounds unbelievable. We know that many times be-
fore you have been told that a-
coal furnace could not be successfully converted without a blower of other expensive changes. True in the past, but not now. The Winkler LP* burner heats your home perfectly in zero weather at a minimum of cost. The amazing principle of low pressure makes your furnace into an oil designed heating plant.
REMEM BE R—Fuel ofl prices are coming down, coal
prices are going up.
Is my home foo small or foo large for an oil conversion burner Small 5 and 6-room homes have & maximum heat loss of approximately 55000 B.T.U. per hour. These buildings usually have a boiler or furnace properly sized for their heat loss—the difficulty in estab-
THE ANSWERS to a few IMPORTANT QUESTIONS about OIL CONVERSION ...
Is an oll conversion burner prac-
lishing economical lies in the oil burner,
operation
Fuel oil has an approximate heat content of 140,000 B.T.U. per gallon. Oil burner nozzles with ratings as high as 1.35 gallons per hour are frequently used in these heating plants, because nozzles become clogged in service.
1.35 Gallons per hour represents a heat release in the combustion chamber of about 200,000 B.T.U. per hour. This {s much more heat than smaller heating plants.can absorb and as a result, stack temperatures are extremely high. Heat thus pouring up the chimney means wasted oil—low efficlenoy!
Now assume a % gallon per hour burner under the same circumstances. This burning rate provides a heat release of about 70,000 B.T.U. in the combustion chamber. The heat absorbing surfaces of the small heating plant age designed to handle this heat release effi-
ciently, and a low stack tem-
perature results. This means saved oil—high efficiency. A large fire requires considerable draft to avoid above-at-mosphere pressures in the combustion chamber. High drafts cause fuel waste, Also, a large fire in a confined space produces the starting “puffs” which cause obnoxious odors in the building. A small fire of the correet heat release for the heating plant avoids these wasteful and unpleasant conditions. Smaller fires permit effective baffling thus producing lower stack temperatures, greater efficiency and saving in fuel, ‘ Furthermore, large heat release in the combustion cham ber causes short burner runs, which means more starts in a relatively cold fire box. Cold starts are always inefficient. Starting an automobile in winter is a comparable example of a cold start—the motor must be choked, thereby using excess fuel, and does not run smoothly until thoroughly warmed.
PAYS FOR ITSELF— IN OIL SAVINGS In three hours or less of heat interruption your present oil burner can be replaced with an economical Winkler LP* Burner and immediately start paying for itself. It pays for itself by eliminating costly service attention that results from clogged nozzles, filter and strainer and inability to burn fuels, It pays for itself by doing away with wasteful overfiring which results in short, inefficient burner operation. It pays for itself by releasing only the amount of heat the heating plant can absorb and transfer efficiently. And it pays for {itself by burning cleanly and efficiency with an everconstant fuel-air ratio over longer operating periods that prevents soot from insulating the heating surfaces, These are a few of the reasons why the LP* will pay for itself and why it offers service-free performance. Tested and Proven! A ngw star has risen on the oll heating horizon; a burner that is a challenge and a refutation to the “old timers” in

the industry who believed that they had witnessed .the ultimate in burner construction and performance years ago. The Winkler LP* Burner stands as the culmination of 25 years of patient, painstaking, never-ending research and work on oil firing units; a burner that offers complete mastery of the low pressure principle and all its advantages; a burner whose dependable performance is equalled only by its simplicity and trouble-free operation; a burner which you can install and “throw away the basement door key.” Tested and proved for four years under conditions of gruelling field operations, the LP* Burner is desiined to establish totally néw standards for oil firing. It is not affected by varying fuel viscosities and characteristics; it needs no filter because the nozzle opening is large enough to pass dirt particles that would put a conventional burner out of commission. «it eliminates smoky, sooty operation on starts and stops; it
