RADIANCE from true dawn was about to illumine the landward suburb of Porto Bello when Morgan's force commenced silently to ‘deploy through sodden maize fields fringing the fort of San Geronimo. Despite this inadequate light, the corsairs saw, against clusters of vanishing stars, the outline of a tall crenellated tower topped by a flag staff. Below it, they discerned a| silhouette of eight-foot machico-| lated walls flanked at their corners by little martello towers or stone lookout boxes. THE STRUGGLE for San Geronimo proved to be as brief as it was bloody. Less than 10 minutes after the sentry had fired his shot, the fort of San Geronimo lay helpless to defend that city. Church bells set up a despairing clanging and banging; shouts and shots spread a frenzied alarm. Achille Tribitor smiled a demoniac smile and, muscles rippling smoothly to his stride, led his crew off to prevent any escapes into the interior. ‘So far, so good,” Morgan shouted. “Now get to your stations.” One after another, La Gloria, San Fernando, San Felipe and sundry other forts and batteries commenced belatedly to fire alarm guns. The few men-of-war at anchor in the harbor even contributed thunderously to the din. David Armitage found himself incredulous that Morgan's initial blow could have been so unbelievably successful. God above! A hasty count revealed that in capturing San Geronimo not one buccaneer had been slain and only three injured. To Jackman, most dependable

We call it “juvenile delinquency” and we discuss it as a social problem. But we can't ignore the fact that it's a true story of the wrecked lives of boys and girls. Its tragedy is writien in the headlines of every newspaper. And behind those headlines are shattered hopes, broken hearts, prison bars and doomed lives. Where did this story begin? In the streets and loitering places? Nol It began in American homes . . . homes like our own. It began
when millions of American parents overlooked the need of their children for religious training.
In the home must be made the decision to provide children with the spiritual and moral education that is required. The Church stands ready with a careful program of religious training for youth and spiritual guidance for adults. But parents, themselves, must decide to take advantage of that program.
Safeguard the future of your children. Enroll them in Sunday, School and encourage their attendance. Foster their spiritual growth by worshipping regularly with them in the church of your choice.
