NICHOL Times Foreign Correspondent BERLIN, Oct. 14—Now that the shooting has subsided and search- * lights have been turned off, the eastern Germans are taking stock of their newly established “government.” ; They are discovering some Interesting facts, none of which is very reassuring. For one thing, the new government is not a collection of youth- . ful hotheads as might at first be thought, It is far more a group of faithful party followers not otherwise particularly distinguished.
