Following graduation from Wittenberg College, he went to Steele High School, Dayton, O., as a teacher and became assistant principal later. Chosen First Principal When Stivers High School was founded in Dayton, he was chosen its first principal. He left there to become principal of Central High School in Duluth, Minn. He first brought his years of experience as an educational administrator to Indianapolis in 1910, when he was appointed principal of the old Shortridge High School. At the time, Shortridge had 1600 pupils and 75 teachers. It has since moved to larger buildings and more than trebled both in enrollment and teaching staff. Outside of his busy school life, .
