Mhirty-two new teachers, in two exchange teachers, were added to the staffs of five Indianapolis high schools for the fall semester. James Komuro, from the staff of Wallace Rider Farrington High School, Honolulu. Hawaii, became & member of the Washington High School ‘art department. A graduate of Ohio University Mr. Komuro exchanged with Miss Frances Failing of the Washing: ton faculty, Another exchange teacher was Miss Eileen McCartney, of Ed.| monton, Alberta, Canada, who exchanged with a member of the Manual Li High B8chool staff, } Joseph H. Jones was named to head the social science department at Washington High. He taught in the Indianapolis school system before entering service in World War II and later worked with the Veterans Admin-| istration. He holds degrees from! Canterbury College and Butler University Other Additions | Miss Bue C. Smith became a new staff member in the Washington attendance office. Miss Barbara Jean Lucas became a member of the English depart-| ment, and Melvin Lucas was added to the music staff. Miss Regina BSharkitt was placed in charge of the school clinic and will teach a class in home hy-| §lene. In addition, Robert P. LeMaster joined the industrial arts department of the faculty. At Broad Ripple High School. where enrollment this year| reached an all-time high of nearly 1500 pupils, 12. new teachers were needed. J. Fred Murphy, former assint-| ant superintendant of schools, was named school prineipal.
