You often see milkweed pods in the fall of the year as you around in your car enjoying the fine autumn weather an side. The next time you see some of these pods hanging at of their strong stalks, gather a hat full and take them home to for creating some odd-shaped creatures, The beauty of the wild milkweed seed as it drifts over country tempts you to open the mature pods and let the seeds sail away. These pods develop at different speeds, but closed pods should be selected along with the open ones, just for variety. When you start to assemble some animal shapes, use small twigs or tooth picks and fasten the pods together into unusual beasts. Pods may be split to fashion wings, tails, and feet. Use grass, seeds, and thorps to create the eyes and other features. Line up your grotesque creations on the mantle or on & bookshelf and enjoy fhe remarks of your friends as they see them.
