We are all justly proud of our beautiful flag which has seven red and six white stripes, and forty-eight stars arranged in six rows of eight stars each. The Flag of the United Statés should be displayed on Memorial Day, and you boys and girls can see that it is flown properly at your homes. On Memorial Day, May 30, the flag is displayed at half staff from sunrise until noon and at full staff from noon until sunset. When flown at half staff the flag is first hoisted briskly to the peak and then lowered ceremoniously to the half-staff position. “Half-staff” means lowering the flag to one-half of the distance hetween the top and the bottom of the staff. The flag should not be displayed during rainy days. In case of rain, to lower the flag from the half-staff position it should be raised again to the peak and then lowered. Be proud to be an
