He had 55 film shorts, a series! of books, and several radio programs to his credit, bringing his annual earnings to an estimated $500,000 a year. He hired a staff of 50 persons to cull and verify the million letters which flooded his office annually bringing him fresh subject matter. Mr. Ripley visited 200 countries in search of lore to amaze the curious, He interviewed Eskimos, cannibals and Tibetan lamas and returned with such treasures as a Chinese junk, shrunken human heads, and a preserved mas todon's foot.
