MAKE A PACKING BOX FOOTLOCKER FOR CAMP—Every

summer thousands of boys and girls go away t6 camp. Packing. . the necessary clothing and equipment is a real problem. An inexpensive chest can be made from a packing box. This box should not be too large to handle when traveling,” and it may have to slide under the foot of your bed at camp. Select a box that already has the right proportions, but be sure it is clean and sound, with seasoned wood that is not too splintery. Batten the lid boards together with screws and hinge the top to the back of the box so that the lid fits squarely into position. Screw a hinged metal hasp that fits over a staple to the front edge of the lid, so that the box may be padlocked. prevent the lid from falling too far back. Bore holes and tie knots for rope handles. Paint or stain the footlocker, then letter your name, address, and the year on the outside, and pack up for camp.—MONDAY~—MAKE BATHS FUN WITH SOAP BOATS.
