Small Homes—

Ranch Type House Ha

HERE IS a small ranch type home that is as modern as tomorrow and yet when properly landscaped would hug the ground and appear to have always been there. Without the garage it is only 37'x24’, yet the open planning makes it seem much larger. It is also so designed that it would go several ways on different lots. It would fit on a very narrow corner lot or a side drive could be used if the lot were only 50 feet wide and in the center of the block. The architect has designed the exterior of wide horizontal

| boxes by the front porch. Flow-

er boxes are also suggested around the corners of both bedrooms. : Because of cost, no fireplace is shown in the living room, but if the budget allows, one could be included easily near the center of the house on the righthand wall of the living room. The eaves extend well out from the walls all around the house affording protection from the hot summer rays of the sun and yet admitting these same rays in the winter when the sun

be cut on the right as you enter from the garage so that on rainy days you could go directly to the vestibule and the coat closet, From this vestibule you enter what is actually a huge room for so small a home, This feeling of spaciousness is the result of open planning. You can actually see right through. this living-dining area from the front to the back of the house.

s Many Desirable Char

The kitchen is directly off the dining area and the floor plan does not show any wall between these two areas. This is because the architect designed this for a modern colorful folding partition or door, but if you would prefer to have a conventional wall and door at this spot it could be easily built in. It is intended to have a pleture window or French doors
